The Construction & Property Working Group exists to create a dialogue amongst building, construction, property, and allied professionals within Beijing. It positions Australian business and AustCham members as major participants in the Construction and Infrastructure segments in China to create opportunities to introduce their products, services and capabilities to leading Chinese construction and/or infrastructure authorities.
The group has regular meetings, special presentations and one-off events, attracting a range of attendees from varied industries. Topics include project management in China, the commercial viability of solar power, how to measure a building's value and how developments are funded in China. Recent gatherings have included a briefing from Ivan Kinsella, Austrade, on how AustCham members in the design, property and construction fields can work with Austrade.
Working Group members also have strong relationships with counterparts in other foreign business chambers' operating in China. Through this relationship, common positions on systemic issues can be developed and presented where such actions are in the best interests of members.
Austrade China Wanwu Eco-Country Directory
Austrade is developing a Chinese language directory to showcase the capabilities of Australian environmental, clean energy and green-building companies. The directory will be marketed to Chinese organisations pursuing major projects in relevant industry sectors, organisations such as urban and rural local authorities, state-owned conglomerates, energy generators and property managers. The directory will also be disseminated through selected trade shows (including the 2010 Shanghai World Expo). For information, please download a fact sheet here.
