Graduate and Intern Opportunities

The Australia-China Young Leaders Program is a comprehensive career development pathway

For the last 5 years, the Australia China Young Leaders Program (ACYLP) has provided Australian students with life changing work and cultural experiences in Mainland China. Originally established by AustCham to support the growing graduate needs of Australian companies in China, the program has evolved into a sought after career pathway for Australian students with a passion for experiencing China's unique culture and economy. The goal of our program is to create a generation of young business and cultural leaders who will strengthen Australia’s bilateral economic and cultural relations with China. This is achieved through a comprehensive career development experience involving mentoring, cultural immersion and work placement.

In its short history, the ACYLP has provided over 35 students with internships in some of Australia’s largest companies. As the program has expanded in popularity, we have increased our involvement to multinationals and a range of China based SME’s. Most companies that have engaged in the program form a large part of the AustCham corporate membership base. This relationship has added tremendous value to the interns experience and the companies themselves.

In 2010 the program enters an exciting new phase with the introduction of a comprehensive scholarship program funded by the Australia China Council (a branch of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade). This program will build upon the goals of the ACYLP and also provide the recipient with flights, language tutoring, event sponsorship and a range of other programs.
