What is Kooka?

Kooka takes its name from Australia's native brid, the Kookaburra, whose call sounds uncannily like raucous human laughter.
Kooka Drinks is an informal networking and socialising event held on the last Friday of every month from 6:30pm - 9:30pm, at popular venues across Beijing. It is a great opportunity to meet Australians and friends of Australia, and draws over 100 people each month.
Regular drink specials include discounted Australian wine and beers, with a unique dinner menu offered every month. There are also exciting prizes to be won in our raffle and business card draws.

History
A few hardy Australian expats who met regularly to share stories and experiences of life in Beijing, envisaged bringing a feeling of Australia to the city through a community where everyone felt at home. Thus Kooka was brought to life in 2004.
Today Kooka Drinks has grown from a gathering of a handful of mates into a networking event that is truly representative of the Australian community in Beijing. It provides a forum for members and guests to network and socialise and is a real desitnation on the social calendar.
