What is sixes cricket?
Sixes a short form of the game with 6 players a side bowling 5 overs each, it is a fast and explosive format where smashing 4's and 6's is the main objective but watch out for the run out's, catches and agile fielding........ after the allotted 5 overs, the side with the highest score wins. This is the BCC's fourth consecutive year hosting the event and it has been great to have the wonderful support from all the teams both from China and overseas and the local Beijing community.
Who is playing?
16 teams will take part this year seeing the return of Misfits CC from Singapore, DB Silverbackz CC from HK, Nomads CC from Manila and the inclusion of the Singapore Cricket Club and a team from South Africa as our overseas teams making their debut in 2012. The other teams will be from Beijing and Shanghai. Phoenix CC (Beijing team) who have won the last 2 years will be once again here to defend the cup, the Mordiailloc CC & Singapore CC will be strong contenders along with Daredevils CC from Shanghai & Kremlin CC from Beijing the Beijing Bombers always bring fitness & colour to the weekend's gathering.
This year we have the pleasure of having two Chinese official umpires in Beijing for the event as well as one from Australia , this will be a great addition for the tournament and organising committee, leaving the laws and technical side to the pro's.

The Cup
The tournament will be known as the "Chander Oberoi Cup" in recognition of a great man and great supporter of the game cricket and friendship through sport whom tragically passed away soon after the 2011 tournament. All tournaments cannot succeed without this kind of passion or sponsors, so once again 2012 title sponsor will be Yamei Trimble with Frank's Place, Coca Cola, Fante Fe, Metro Plaza Hotel Lido and Pure Sports being others.
Some cricket jargon
Silly point - where a fielder stands in front and very close to the batsman
Long leg- where a fielder patrols the boundary behind the batsman
Short leg- where a fielder stands behind and very close to the batsman
Slip- where a fielder stands behind and at a fine angle to the batsman hoping to take a stunning catch
